Default NEED HELP ON EVERYTHING(1st car)

Hi, I'm new to the whole car scene and everything so I pretty much know nothing about it, but here's my dilema. I wanna buy a civic because I know they are reliable cars and they aren't very expensive and you can do work on them very easily. I was wondering If it was worth buying a Civic Si (coupe) and going from there, or should i buy a Civic EX and then do engine work, and if so, what kind of engine work. I'm still in highschool and I work part-time so I don't have all that much money so if you could give me a clue as to what you think I should do if you were in my situatuion... and by the way this will be my first car.

If you have no money, but your gonna get a car. Get the one with a better motor. (i dont know if your making payments on the car or if the parents are gonna buy it)
A si is your best bet. but the cost, is a but more than say a eg hatch body and a LS motor. (im talking about buying a car without a motor. )

No need to get a EX, you have more of a limit to the HP than with a dohc. Get the one with the better motor if you want a cat to 'fix up' . b series responds better to bolt ons than a D series. to get power from a D, you need a little FI in the mix.

It all depends on how much money you have to spend and what you're looking to end up wit in the long run... an si can run you anywhere between 8-12 grand, an ex is a lot cheaper but you're still gonna have to spend money on a swap (if thats what you're looking for)...

well if an si costs 8-12 k and an EX is about 7k then with a swap doesnt that run at about 10k which is about an si? so is an SI worth it?

Well yeah its worth it if you don't wanna have to do a swap...but if you want a stronger motor like a b18 then just get an Ex
