Default Need Help:Engine sputters

did a engine swap on my boys 95' dx auto-d15, ran perfect all weekend. Now its beginning to sputter. Theres no CEL. i think its the gas but not 100% sure. He says he always goes to HESS for gas and filled the tank up with regular. Ever since the car stared sputtering here and there. Put 2 bottles of dry gas in. Still the same results. Dirty injector? idk im out of ideas.

How do the plugs, cap, and rotor look? Have you resistance test the wires?

Jump the service connector to see whether you can pull any codes (see forum CEL sticky).

no code because the CEL doesn't come on til u ride it for a while and the sputtering/shaking affect keeps happening.

Does the sputtering happen while idling, driving, or both. More details might help.

Try to get the CEL code as it may focus your troubleshooting. I think a knowledgeable member (maybe 94EG8?) mentioned, for 5th generation Civics, a need to pull the car over when the CEL comes ON and to jump the connector with the engine still running. Can someone verify this?

I would do like RONJ said and as soon as it comes on pull over and check the CEL and go from there. Sorry not much help but you dont have much info until you can check the CEL
