Need Help with engine
i just installed all my internals to a b16a2 block..the engine runs awfully hot(touching valve cover)..would it be a long problem on the long run..feels and seem like it's running fine..the car is not over heating or anything

Re: Need Help with engine (EG Civic)
Is the engine pinging? Detonation of any sort? Engines (valve covers) do get pretty damn hot to the touch even when the car is not overheating. Just keep an eye on your temp. guage, coolant levels, oil, and make sure you are not detonating.

why? putting all water is fine, coolant/antifreeze jus prevents the liquid from freezing.
also it raises the boiling point.
so define "hot" maybe its running at operating temp.

Re: Need Help with engine (EG Civic)
Yeah my engine runs at a normal temp, but when fully warm will burn my hand if I leave it on the valve cover for too long too. Engines do get hot, and you are putting your hand on metal.
Don't listen to someone who says all water is fine. Coolant doesn't just act as an anti-freeze component. It also has lubricants which help the coolant system (water pump) work smoothly and efficiently.
