Need Help Deciding on a Fast Car!!!!!!
Well, I want to Street race, but i need to get a fast car, Something i can find like in the trading post or ebay for less then 5grand. I had ideas about an 94' Integra, 93' Del Sol, and 95' Civic Hatchback, well what car can i buy that looks good fixed up and is fast as hell. My max is probably $5500 for the car...and I'm gonna be spending more for parts and everything....so wut would u get? I need something that will beat most anything u'll find in VA, like Civics and CRXs.

HOW BOUT A CRX, THERE HELLA CHEAP, AND THEN WITH THE $ U HAVE LEFT U COULD DO A MOTOR SWAP. THEN U WILL HAVE A RIDE THAT IS HELLA QUICK.

drop a b16a1 into a crx you'll run around 13's, But Crx's are kinda small and wack if you want a little more room i'd go with the 95 hatch and drop an h22 or a b18c1 or c5 in it and that'd be out like trout.

you just opened the flood gates of hell son....be prepared for the flaming ahead.
to be honest with you, none of the cars you have listed are "fast as hell" and you wont get anywhere for 5500. you will soon come to realize that people here at H-T care far more about functionality as to looks. who cares about a big bodykit that slows the car down as to a clean car that weighs less? i suggest you rethink your question before you get bashed on too much. but in my opinion for 5500 id buy a crx for about 1500 and spend the other 4grand on a motor swap, screw looks.

Id suggest a 92-95 hatch with some type of swap because its light ..and u can for sure find them for under 5500...but the motors gonna cost some cash.

hate to sound like your parents but you shouldnt be street racing. all the cars that u mentioned would be good platforms to build a car on. u should decide which direction u want to go with the build accordingly. its always cheaper and easier to do it the first time.

Why are you asking what car to buy when you said you already had a del sol?
If you don't already have a car, 92-95 cx/vx are the lightest. Get one and save enough money until you decide the best route to go.

Re: Need Help Deciding on a Fast Car!!!!!! (Steve86)
get an 88-91 crx or 92-95 civic cx/vx hatch. depending on which one you find and how good of a deal will determine your cash flow afterwards. as far as running 12s and 10s...i seriously hope you are referring to 1/8 mile. i dont know many people that out of all the money they spent on building their cars can run 10s or even 12s in a 4 banger except for the pros. start with something more reasonable.

for 5500, you have no chance at running anything near 12's let alone 10's.
for 5500 id say the best you could do is get a base model crx, gut it completely and do a b16 swap with all the bolt ons. forget about having p/s or a/c or a passenger seat for that matter.
that should get you into the low 14's. then if you still have about 500 left over, buy a zex no2 kit and juice it. it wont be very reliable, but it could run mid to low 13's
not what i would do at all, but it would be preety fast and fairly cheap. till you blow your motor of course

Street racing is stupid.
Learn to drive before you get a fast car.
Learn how motors work, then decied. Are you planning on modification?
I take it your looking for a fast honda. Why not a S2000, if you're looking for another brand of automobile get the **** out of this forum!

Find a 5.0 mustang if you want fast in a straight line. The old fox bodies are pretty potent. However, don't expect to be able turn much =p I wouldn't avocate street racing either, keep it on the track.
