Default Need help!!! damn ecu codes!

First off this is a 94 b18c1 into a 93 del sol S. Swapped about 2 years ago.

All right... I can't figure this one out. I keet getting an ecu code when in vtec. Only get the code when the engine is between about 6.5 and 8k. Sort of like it only happens when the secondaries are open. The code is for vtec oil pressure. I've tried going through the trouble shooting section of the helms manual for this code. I've checked oil pressure at the port with vtec engages and it reads around 75 psi. I also did them ohms value on the sensor and it read ok, but since ohm reads can be less than reliable i opted to replace the pressure sensor. This didnt' have any effect on the problem. My wiring seems pretty sound. I don't remember what I did the the harness... It's been a long time since I put the engine in. I know I added the knock wires and the solinoid wires. I think the presure wire was all ready there I just had to move some ecu pins. Don't remember for sure. But I don't get any codes while idleing or normal driving. Only at those rpm ranges.

I just got home from the store and did a hard pull on her getting into traffic and noticed the problem was still there. (I did above a little while back). I tried to pay very close attention to when the light came on. Pulled right through first to 6.5k second to 8k no light... Dropped to third and then down through the gears. Wasn't till I was in fifth and was out of vtec all together that the light came on. THen of course the light is on steady and the car runs like a dog. So i have to drop out of gear and restart it. Light goes out and everything is back to normal.

I need to fix the damn thing. It's irriatation the hell out me.

I'm really at a loss. I'm going to be putting in my new cat tomorrow. Though I doubt they are related. My cat is like half pluged up so it's causeing a bit of excess backpressure. I've been tring to avoid using vtec cuase the exhaust can't get rid of the pressure, but today I had to do it and this damn code thing started again. The only way I could connect the two together is that high rpms = high cylinder pressure/volume = increase in ring blowby = extra pressure in crank case and this is effecting oil pickup at high rpm. When I did the test it was per helms manual which had you check at 2k 4k and 6k.

Did you recently add a Vtec Controller? or maybe some of the wires have gotten a faulty connection

No vtec controllers. Electronics are all stock. Full oil. solenoid screen is clean.

I'm not sure what the o2 sensor has to do with vtec pressure. That seems a little more than wierd. But seeing as how I'll have my cat out tomorrow, I'll take a look at that. If the sensor is a reasonable price i'll replace it. The o2 sensor isnt' throwing any codes though. However my mpg has been dropping as of late.

Your O2 will reset it self after you shut the car off, but once you heat it up and push more fuel at it, like when you hit vtec, it will throw it into limp mode. Limp or "safe mode" will make your car run like ****

I'm going to try putting the sensor from my old engine in today and see what difference it makes. It's worth trying. If it works I'll get a new one. All the auto store around me carry only the bosch sensor. Which i've been told is crap. Whating for one to turn up on ebay.

Your explination srta makes sense 2.0l ek. When your run at full throttle the ecu goes into an open loop mode right? When you come off throttle it returns to closed loop and looks for the o2 sensor input. This seems to be what is happening to me. It comes on after the pull or between shifts.

Thanks for your input.
