NEED HELP: D16Y6 (EG SI) into EG VX civic - need details asap
hey guys,
i need some very specific details, which im sure some of you who have infinite knowledge about these swaps can provide me with.
ok i have a 92 civic vx, currently has a stock D15Z1 motor (v-tec economy) in it.
im getting an EG SI motor, i believe it's D16Z6;
first of all, will an EK tranny bolt right into that engine?
will that engine plug RIGHT into my existing bay harness, and will the ECU plug right in aswell? if not is it hard to mod it?
and lastly, will my axels work on that engine? anything else i'll need to do the job?
thanks again guys.
appreciate any help

Re: NEED HELP: D16Y6 (Street Ghost)
****, i just found out it's a D15B, not a D16Z6... but from what i understand tehy are the same engine, just more aggressive cam on the D15B
is that true? and will the swap still go through perfectly??
also, will a USDM SI ECU work on a D15B Jspec motor?

Re: (civicvx_2005)
man i was thinking,
VTEC-E kicks in from the stock P07 @ 2000RPM
VTEC on a SI kicks in from the SI ECU @ ~5200RPM (i think)
so, i was thinking, why not run a P07 on a SI motor to get EXTREME acceleration?
in my case, i was thinking of swapping out the head only to get VTEC (the real one) at 2kRPM
would this even work?
the VTEC cylonoid (however the fuc kyou spell that ****) and harness looks the same...maybe itll work?

Re: (Street Ghost)
You'll run lean period, the VX is a lean burn engine, the ECU takes readings from a wideband O2 sensor, not a narrowband, you'll need the correct ECU.
