Default Need Help With CEL

I can't find the wire to do the paper clip trick

93 Civic LX Sedan, H22A Swap

Edited: Please identify if the cel is a 2 or a 12. According the the video in the faq it is a 2

You can try either, they are the same video

It will behind the dash right by the carpet in pic 1. There will be a 2pin and a 3pin, jump the 2 pin. Stole this pic from the stick on the top. The holes right by his hand are where the bracket behind the glovebox is normally mounted to, so you can see how pic1 is so close. Just reach behind the dash, both the 2p and 3p may be in a little rubber protector, just pull it out..

Alright the green cover threw me off, and that the tip was blue insted of white

Ok, so it threw a code 2, which is Oxygen sensor #2, but i don't think 92-95 civics came with them. Would this mean my H22A is from 96 or after? And this would mean i have a 2nd sensor hanging somewhere? 0.o

Would this be causing my horrible gas milage?

This could be causing the terrible gas mileage. No the 92-95 civic didn't have a secondary (Except the D15B8 but these are unrelated) O2 sensor. I'm not familiar with the H swaps but I do know there would be some wiring conversion involved. My guess is something didn't get wired to the ECU properly..

If its obd1 you shouldnt be reading another o2 sensor. Try resetting the ecu.

No, but according to the video that's just like telling you it's OBD1 or something? I'll try to make a video of my own tommorow.

dude 1 long flash followed by 2 short ones is a 12. something is up with your egr. since its a swap and those civics didnt have egr, id say that theres something up with the wiring.

Search is down. I heard a whistling sound from the engine last night too, so would that be it or now it has a vaccum leak too?

does it idle wierd? my intake makes a whistle, I mean there are alot of things that could make noises, but a vacuum leak that you can hear would seriously cause driveability(sp) issues I would think. You need to get a manual so that you can go over the EGR system and figure out why your getting the code.

No, it idles around 800-500 and sometimes after sitting for some time it will dip down and shake a little, then come back up.
