Did you re-check everything after you finished? Made sure you tightened everything up? Is it leaking? Need more info.

Make sure you shut your bleeder valve and tightened your cap all the way. It's funny sometimes that you think your radiator cap is on all the way then it blows off and starts spewing coolant...

is your thermostat working? maybe it's fried and now it stays shut all the time. easy to find out...i'd rule that out before looking into more serious issues.
you're not seeing any thick white smoke are you?

well. Last week when my dad and I did a y8 IM swap onto my y7 we lost alot of coolant (lots) . We put everything backtogether and put some more antifreeze into the radiator..... Start the car and go for a drive. BAM! the temperature skyrockets to H. I dorve the car back home quickly and we were puzzled . My dad opened the radiator and it seemed that nothing was int there . We filled it al the way to the top (you can see through the hole) and now everything works fine .
MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR COOLANT LEVEL.
