NEED HELP Busted timing chain-eg with b16 swap
Hey guys I need help. My timing belt broke on my 94 civic with a jdm b16 swap. I am going to change it out my self but I don t know how to align the timing marks on the stock gears and then how to align that with the crank. If you can help I would really appreciate that.

Get the crank pulley nut loose and get your accessory belts loosened/removed. With piston #1 at TDC make sure the mark on the crank pulley is lined up with the indicator line molded onto the belt cover. Pull the pulley off w/o turning it. Get the valve cover and t-belt covers off. Loosen the idler pulley. Turn the cams til the arrows on the gears point inwards towards each other and are aligned. Fit the new belt on making sure it goes properly through the tensioner and water pump, then tighten the tensioner. Put all the crap back on in reverse order. Generally it's a good time to replace accessory belts and use a new valve cover gasket.
One thing you need to watch out for though is the possibility of bent valves which can happen with busted t-belts on Hondas. The valves can get stuck open and then the piston strikes them.
It's also a good idea to pick up at least a cheap Haynes or Chiltons manual to guide you through these basic procedures with pictures and stuff step by step.
