Re: need help
If you pay someone to do the labor for you, expect to spend around $5,000 in parts and labor just to get the stock engine in your car.
You'll need another $3,000+ probably in cams, valvetrain, tuning, thinner headgasket, to get a car that regularly gets into the low 13's and high 12's with good tires.
Slicks maybe high 12's.
it's really difficult to assign a specific dollar amount to a time on the track. But you can expect to spend anywhere between $5,000-$12,000 to "go fast"

There's a lot more fabrication involved in your typical k-series swap. It's generally accepted that there's a good reason there aren't many k-swaps. They tend to be a bit more expensive and are less bang for the buck.
For the price you could make a 13 second k-series car you could also build the same car, easier, on a proven platform with a turbo or a high compression b-series.
I did the math and including labor and using engine and transmission purchased from hmotorsonline you can buy all the parts new and modify the h22 oem header and get the engine in the car for about $5,000 pretty safely.
If you bargain hunted for a used h2b kit and got a 2nd hand motor and transmission locally you could do it for about $3500. I've seen plenty of h22 longblocks for about $500-1000 on craigslist.
