NEED HELP BADLY>>Installing Passenger C/V Axle..Please Help..
Hello guys. I am in the process of installing my Passenger Side Axle..I have run into a problem..I have the old one out and when I try to install the new one into the tranny it won't go all the way in..I look inside the transmission where the new axle fits and there looks to be a round object, almost looks like a socket, going across where my axle is supposed to go...IT is past the gear that has the teeth on it..Do you guys know what it could be or have a tip for me..Do you think I need to take that metal ring that goes around the end of the axle off or what??? Please help me with this..My car is on a jack right now..Thanks..

and looks like
that is the differential pin that holds your spider gears in place, that is normal.
the retaining ring on the end of the axle shaft must stay on when placing it in, did the old ring come out with the old axle. if not it may be stuck in there. otherwise keep trying they can be hard to go in, just be sure not to damage the boot,

Yep that is it..It is giving me fits..I am gonna keep hacking at it untill it does work. I bet my retaining ring is just getting hung on the spider gear..I am gonna try and squeeze it down just a bit with my needle nose pliers and just try to work it in...Thank you for the quick response and the boost in confidence..I have been cussing now for about an hour...THank you...

i always put the trannyside in first then the spindle side so i wouldnt have thought bout the axle drooping down and being restricted like that
