B16 or GSR head, and turbo or a big shot of nitrous.
Or fully built, super high compression, big *** cams, hood exit, etc. on m5 fuel

Turbo!!! May not sound like it but this will be your least expensive way and I’ve had many different turbo builds, with Garrett turbos, Borg Warner, precision and eBay turbos. For a 300hp build you can make a reliable 300hp daily driver on an eBay turbo (waits for the flaming) but I would definitely use an oil restrictor and you have to have some kind of ventilation or catch can so you don’t get crankcase pressure, without that you’re going to blow the seals slam out of any turbo you buy. Don’t skimp on injectors or wastegate. AND GET IT DYNO TUNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Budget route
rev 9 TX-50-57 turbo
tial 38mm wastegate
cast log manifold or for like $200 extra tubular log manifold
440cc dsm injectors will be very close to maxed at 300hp but will work
chipped ecu
walbro 255lph fuel pump
ebay intercooler kit
blowoff valve
get a decent clutch (competition stage 3 or 4)
and again get it professionally dyno tuned and this setup will reward you with many many many weekends of fun trust me, won’t be the absolute fastest thing in the world but you will still hurt a lot of feelings.

Not sure why everyone is jumping to low budget options.
Do it right. Get a kit from GoAutoworks and get it professionally tuned on a Hondata S300. Any compromise in quality you will pay for in the long run.

for 300hp I just believe that’s over kill. I’ve done it both ways and for 300hp what I listed what do perfectly for his needs. Unless he wants to grow into more power then I would agree with you whole heartedly 2x0 not disagreeing at all, I just believe if he’s only wanting 300hp he’s not trying to spend a year’s salary on the build lmao.

Then again if buying proper parts requires a years salary, they should not even be considering a 300hp Honda build to begin with.

i didn’t mean that 300hp meant a year’s salary, and yes that may have been a bit of an exaggeration.. but on higher horsepower cars you can bet that if you do it correctly you’re gonna have a pretty penny tied up in it. I have my build on here right now in fact I think you commented on it, mine is in my eyes kind of a simple build and I already have about 15gs in it and it’s just a 400hp setup lol so I know the cost of both ways. I was just simply saying if he only wants 300hp it may be because he didn’t want to drop a pile of money into is all, just my assumption.. but we all know what they say about assuming lol

Completely agree with you, 300hp can be had on a budget and will probably run fine for a long time. Even cheaper parts and some ebay parts might last at that power level.
To each their own. But in my opinion, it's best to build it once and build it right, knowing that with turbo it is easy to become power hungry, and desire to turn up the boost once you've had a taste of it so whatever the HP goal is, I would build it to handle 30-50% more than that. THEN you have a reliable, quality setup and aren't always just waiting for what will fail next.

Right. What I meant was if OP can't afford to put $10K into it if he wanted to, they should probably find a different hobby lol.

Re: Need help on B20 motor with Gsr trans build
Thanks that’s what I’m going for, I’m looking for B16 head which I’ll build up but I really don’t know what partsI have to buy. Or where I should buy the parts I need to build it up. Like I already know I’ll need injectors/cams/ maybe new pistons? PS just got into Honda’s.. so I don’t know much...

I would look for parts locally, but it's always buyer beware. Lots of people tear stuff up and then try to sell it. Craigslist, facebook marketplace, or facebook groups such as B20VTEC, B-Series Parts, etc.

Re: Need help on B20 motor with Gsr trans build
all depends on what you want really no real set turbo size or set psi.. I hate hearing oh it’ll make this much on 10psi or 8psi or 16psi.. cause 10psi on a big turbo is a hell of a lot different than 10psi on a t25. But a b20 on a 5431 precision should be making around 300-315 on 13-14psi with that size turbo completely stock internally. I had a bone stock ls turbo make 280hp 240tq on 12psi on an eBay 54mm compressor and 57mm turbine in a .63ar housing.
