Default NEED HELP ASAP!!!

ok i just swapped a gsr into my ek hatch about a month ago, yesterday when i was driving, in between gears it makes a grinding noise, once i put it in gear it goes away. Also once i hit past 3000 rpm the grinding noise comes back again. Could this be my clutch or my synchros. i need help

if its when you are shifting i would have to say synchros, that's what it sounds like you are describing.

well that all depends....carbon coated synchros for a b-series are about $275 shipped from gearspeed.com i havent had a problem with mine and my car has seen things like 8800 rpm shifts a couple more times then it would prefer (whoops) if you have never rebuilt a tranny then i would recommend taking it to a transmission shop....the labor there could be outrageous though so option number 2 might as well be either buy a b16 or gsr tranny from inlinefour.com for around $900 or find one somewhere else cheaper (i'd pay extra to know im getting a good trans from inlinefour though.) and option 3 if you have no money to have it fixed then i would do this...
1. order synchros
2. search for archived threads from Bense
3. set aside a weekend and try it yourself, it's not gonna be easy so make sure you don't get frustrated and accidentally break things like i would.

if you have any questions you can PM me i have rebuilt several trannies including mine which was once and LS tranny that i snapped the differential bearing off and destroyed all the spider gears in...so i bought a b16 gearset and my friend showed me how to rebuild it with b16 1st...LS 2nd...and b16 3rd-5th and a b16 differential.

the transmission itself? not hard if you have the tools, time, and know how...i'd expect a few hours for a first timer...the tranny in my car has been out in just shy of an hour and me and a friend did a 97 ex coupe tranny from jacking the car up to letting the car down in 2 hours exactly so depending on experience set aside some time either way.

only higher then 3500 are u slamming it what happens if you push the clutch in for a second before u shift and push it into gear gently, almost sounds like the h22 trannys with the arm construction problem for 5th gear but gsr tranny's dont have this problem, i am think bad throw out bearing, what does the car do if u dwn shift and it engages at above 3500 like 5k does it rattle or grind, and is it all gears, would be ridiculous if all the gears grinded and it started at the same time that just doesnt happen, ***throw out bearing***

i believe it is your throw out bearing/clutch is having trouble engaging/disengaging making it sounds like u are grinding gears which u are but i dont belive it is the syncros they will not all start grinding at once
