Need help on AC problem.
I have a 00'Civic Si. I'm hearing the ac turn on then off while im driving, this causes the car to stutter ever 4-7 secs while accelerating. The ac is turned on halfway, temp is to the max. I've also noticed that the ac is not as cold compared to other Si's. I have 47,000 miles. Would I need to put another can of freon? Would I need to have Honda check the lines? What do I need to do? I need help on this, it's getting kinda hot in Atlanta. Any help would really be appreciated.

Sounds like low freon. Compressing is cycling on and off. Don't just add freon yourself eithout using pressure gauges to check the low side and high side readings. I think 35-40 psi and it should be full. Overfilling it will cause the A/C not to cool well.

I have had two 00 civics , this used to bug the hell out of me when I got the second one but reenforces the notion that not every single car made is the same . the first 00 civic the ac seemed weak but it would cool . The second civic I got later on (still a 00 model) the Ac seemed colder and pumped out the vents harder . Both vehicles were new . So go figure , maybe you got the runt of the batch . But I would still take it in and have honda techs check it out . Maybe you have a slow leak or just need basic maintence .
