ok my ac compressor truns on and off every 10 seconds. And no its not low on freon. heres a video of the car by the way its a 99 ex civic with gsr swap

If the pressure switch sees low pressure or to high a head pressure it will cycle the compressor off.

Even with a properly charged system the compressor can still cycle. You have a Thermostat attached to the outside of your Evaporator with a probe that goes down into the core of the Evaporator. When it gets to a certain temp it will cycle the compressor off. I have seen some T-Stats cycle the compressor off at 37 Degrees F. If it didn't and the Evaporator just got colder and colder it would freeze up and you would also probably get refrigerant back into the compressor in a form of a Liquid instead of a gas.

On days with a lower Ambient temperature such as 70 degrees F the A/C won't have as much load on it so it will run closer to capacity or to capacity a lot easier than a 90 degree day. At 90 degrees F you may notice the compressor doesn't cycle as its got a lot more load/strain on it.

This is at least how I understand it. I might be wrong so don't take it to heart. If I am wrong someone let me know.

You need a manifold gauge set. Measure the high and low side refrigerant pressures when the engine is idling at 1500 rpm. Also mention the temperature outside when the test is done. This information will help diagnose the problem. Did you recently add refrigerant to the system? Overfilling can cause the problem you are having.

Does the condenser fan run continuously when the A/C is on?

yes i think the condenser fan stay on with the ac. Will this moring i started her up and i trun the ac on it trun on fine compressor was on about more then 3-4mins. And i drove to the store came back home it started to the same thing. it will trun on and off ever 10secs.

Do you have a Thermometer in your center vent? If so, what is the temp running? If not, go get one and put it in there.

Normal on/off cycling of the A/C system is controlled by the thermostat, which is plugged into the evaporator. When the thermostat turns the system off, the condenser fan turns off and the compressor clutch disengages. When the A/C system has run for a while, on/off cycling may happen every 20-30 seconds. This is normal.

If when your A/C system cycles off, the fan continues to run yet the compressor turns off, then there is a problem.

yes this is right when my ac compressor truns off my fan still stays on. i guess im going to change the ac evaporator to see what it does.

What were the refrigerant pressures on the high and low sides?

Did you check the clutch gap?

Did you check the pressure switch? This is done by BRIEFLY jumping the connector.

Ron has already told you as you can see above where I quoted what he said. I put the how to do it part in bold and italic. So to run it down a bit more, unplug the electrical connector that goes to the Pressure Switch on the Condenser, Then take a piece of wire and jump the Terminals on the harness side of the connector. This will By-Pass the Pressure Switch. But as Ron said only do this BRIEFLY as the Pressure Switch is there to protect your Compressor.
