Need help with 99-00 Front SI sway bar
Is it just a direct bolt on to a 98 ex (seems that there are two types with different enslinks)? Any thing I should look for when buying one. Going to pick one up this sat and wanted to know everything that i needed to bolt it up.
I was originally going to go with just the si rear sway and the ex front, but wondered if i would be satisfied with the conservative setup. I don't want to spend money on the si rear setup just to just to end up with the craving for something stiffer like the 22mm bar. SO i decided just to go with the teg rear sway.
I thought that going with the si front would balance out the suspension a bit more. But would a 4mm difference be worth it (ex=22mm Si=26mm)?
what would an optimal sway setup for a coupe be to get more neutral handling?
22mm F / 22mm R.
26mm F / 22mm R
or more conservative...
22mm F / 13mm R
?? First hand experience would help greatly.I have untill thrusday to make up my mind.
thank you
Cliff notes: WHat to look for when purchasing SI FRONT sway bar for 98 EX. Is it worth it?

well you would need the swaybar, endlinks, brackets, front LCAS and front damper forks, all from an SI or CTR to fit it on your EX.
Can't say how they work with the f/r balance of a sedan, but I can tell you that if you are gonna put the SI front, you will need at least an ITR rear(22) to keep any balance.
This setup works particularly well on a hatch though, IMO.

If you are installing the front sway on a 96-00 civic, you are going to need the bar, the lcas, the endlinks, and basically everything from the Si. To my knowledge, you can't really use anything from the EX.
As far as my experiences with the bars go, I had a si 26mm front and an ITR 22mm rear. Along with Tein suspension, the car handled almost perfectly neutral. It was an awesome set up and what I plan on doing with my current car.
Can't beat oem

Everyone mentioned everything you need. For future reference, if you plan on getting traction bars, they will not work with the Si lower arms. If you plan on getting traction arms get the ex parts and upgrade the sway bar later.

Re: Need help with 99-00 Front SI sway bar (Takeoff)
Thank you everyone for your replies. Think I might just settle with Just the si rear sway for now.
How much do LCA and the forks off an SI usually run?
Didn't think I was going to need so much stuff and for only a 4mm difference.
Thank you.

Dont waste your time with a SI REAR sway, just get the ITR with a Beaks kit.
And yes, 150-200 is the average price for the COMPLETE SI/CTR setup in FRONT.

you are all wrong. all you need is the bar, the frame bushings, and the endlinks from a del sol si vtec. or you can use the endlinks from a 91-93 nissan sentra.

Re: Need help with 99-00 Front SI sway bar (tonyXcom)
I have the Civic EX 22 mm front w/ Civic Si 13 mm rear. Can I tell a difference? I don't know, because I installed the swaybar the same time I installed my new struts, springs, and front strut bar. This entire setup is no comparison to stock.
I'm not sure if I'm ready to get a 22 mm rear swaybar, because I don't ever want my car to oversteer. I'm debating if I should change my front LCAs, forks, and swaybar so I can accomodate the 26 mm front. Which of the following setups to you guys think is better?
1. 22 front / 13 rear - my current setup
2. 26 front / 13 rear - 99-00 Civic Si setup

3. 26f 22r on a Civic Hatchback
I can't really comment on coupes and sedans because they handle pretty different then hatchbacks.
But I would be willing to bet that a coupe or sedan would feel better with a 22F 22R swaybar setup since they don't rotate as good as hatches do.

Re: Need help with 99-00 Front SI sway bar (tonyXcom)
I am currently running a 22mm front and 13mm rear on my 98ex coupe. It is a decent setup for street and it keeps me happy for now. I'm considering going with the SI front setup and definatly a larger bar in the rear. I'm planning on going to a road course this summer and see how my car will do. From there, I will decide if a bigger sway setup is needed. The car still has a little understeer, but is is much closer to neutral than it was without the rear bar.
