Default need help!!

Anyone in here have an auto civic?? my gf's car is a 00 civic ex auto or experienced this problem? when i drive it it shifts thru 1st and 2nd fine then when its about to go into 3rd the rpms hops from 3k to like 3,500 rpms, and causes the car to hesitate then it goes into gear. Any help would be appreciated...

I don't have an auto, but you could try reaplacing the transmission fluid and/or resetting the computer.

Could be the tranny slipping due to worn bearings or friction material in the auto tranny. That sounds like bad news becuase you may need to take it a shop for a tranny rebuild and lemme tell ya it aint goin to be cheap either. Try this though, remove the tranny dip stick and check the fluid, if its black then that means the clutch discs in the tranny are burnt out and need replacing, which a shop can do and again it aint goin to be cheap either. I kinda doubt that changing the fluid will help, but it does't hut to try.

its a 2000 civic...how can it be burnt already, the clutch packs don't last only 30k miles...its a HONDA!!! dang it. thanks for the info guys
