Need good cheap exhaust for EG hatch
So my wife bottomed my hatch out and broke the flange right after the header. So I need a new cat back. I'm not spending 3-500 on my z6. it's just not a good value for the increase on a basically stock motor. I was thinking about an ebay exhaust but they all have huge fart cans which is fine I guess but I was looking for something a little quieter since I'm running a header and no cat. Since I'm actually spending money I don't want a stock replacement either. I was thinking about a pace setter but I was looking for something with 2.25 piping. anyone wanna point me in the right direction?

ive heard bad stuff about pacesetter.your z6 will be fine with 2in piping.you can go to a muffler shop and get one custom made.

i seen a full catback on ebay for 140 bucks, and it had a resinator in it. not sure what it would be like, but my ej1 had a res in when i bought it and it was relatively quiet, even with the huge 3.5" can on the back.

it doesnt have to be off a hatchie.
i got my Apexi exhaust of an integra that was at the junkj yard for a week(so says a worker there)
and only paid $12
EDIT: $12 just for the exhaust. not the pipping since it was stock pipping. went to a muffler shop and got 2 1/4 inch pipping for $40 with installation of the apexi

Yeah youd be surprised what aftermarket parts end up like-new in junkyards for pretty cheap. Closest junkyard to me is like a 40 minute drive though, so i dont have the ability to go rummage in the junk of totalled civics every week.

I have that same exhaust on my hatch. It is louder than stock but quieter than most the fart cannon's around here. Also its got a deeper tone to it.

cheap exhuast, go to a muffler shop, ask to look in there scrap pile of old mufflers. look for a dc2 or db8 muffler, grab that out, give it to them, ask for a 2in piping, then their, you're done. no more then $80 for the piping, unless the shop charges cheaper.
