Need to get into the high 13s to low 14s, but how?
Right now in my 99 Civic coupe i have a OBD1 Jspec GSR motor with I/H/E VAFC and FPR, everything else is stock. With that set up i usually run 14.6s-14.7s. Right now my car is in the shop getting a Exedy organic clutch installed along with a fidanza flywheel. I was wondering without doing any head work or FI, what would be the easies way to get the car into th 13.9-14.2 range?. What do you all think i should be running after the clutch and flywheel install?

The easiest and usually cheapest way to shed time, is to shed weight.
Strip that coupe down to the bare-neccesities.
Get rid of the basics A/C, PS, Spare/Jack, back seats etc. etc.
You'll be suprised how much wieght comes off that bad boy.

yep, this is certainly one good way since for roughly every 100lbs you remove you reduce your time by 1/10th. However if it's a daily driver and you'd like to carry people in it the next best option would be a nitrous kit which even set at a lowly 50hp shot should get you into the 13's. It's relatively cheap too.

is the car tuned? If not get it done. With that setup you should be hitting your goal.

if ur at sea level then i would through in some itr pistons that u can get from acura for about 55 bucks each that might be ya best bet.. u will raise the compression almost 2 points if im not mistaken that should be good for at least 20- 30 hp and dyno tune it maybe get a vafc and tune it.. good luck regardless man.

u dont need to gut your car with that setup you should be easily in the 14.20 range easily. Have you ever had the car tuned on a dyno since you put the vafc on and the fpr????????? and do u have a fp gauge in the car to check the fpr u might have it set way to high or too low even. Tuning tuning tuning
Also what is your 60fts are u spinning excessively etc
what rpm are u shifting at
What type of tires are u running
SLIX are the best way to drop your et's and proper tuning
just to give u a idea i am running a jdm itr motor in a ek hatch that has full interior(yea my car is a lil lighter but i have the same mods as u and my motor makes a lil more power but u should still see 14.20-13.9's) i have a 97 jdm itr motor converted to obd1 running stock gsr computer i/h/e slix and vafc tuned for my car and i run consistant 13.20's but i also practiced launching my car many many nights and also just kept on racing it so what i would say is just practice practice get it tuned a.s.a.p check that fuel pressure and aslo u said it was a 95 motor so i assume u are running obd1. if not convert it to obd1 that was the best mod i have done yet besides tuning

first of all break-in your clutch . Then you can do some weight reduction, get rid of all you can think of, even the carpet and tar. I was able to get rid of ~100lbs in my Sol, so im sure you'll be able to get more than that in your civic. Then slap some slicks on and go for the gold.

yes the car has been tuned last january wit the VAFC but not with the FPR and the new edition of the flywheel and clutch. Im thinking about putting it on the dyno next week before the big track event that im getting ready for but i dont know

Im running a B16. AN-R header, RSR GTII exhaust Intake, South Bend CLutch, Fidanza Flywheel, FPR, VAFCII, ITR head, ITR tranny and it netted me 13.53 once and consistant 13.6's

With your set up you should be in high 13s low 14s easy. What is your elevation?
Get a better IM and get it tuned and you should be in high to mid 13s and mid 13s with slicks.

but yeh, on street tires,
you could have the head milled a bit,
and have it tuned, that would get you some needed power.
then of course the weight/accessory removal previously mentioned, and you should be good to go.

Throw some slicks on that bish and you'll be low 14's maybe even breaking 13's. If money is no object, find yourself a b18c5 head. Mate it with your block mid to low 13's all day long.
