Default NEED FEEDBACK

Ok well I have a the stock sohc in my 95 civic running 8 pounds of boost with a full greddy turbo kit. I was just curious should I keep the motor I have in now or motor swap to something else and what motor should I swap it with?

Anything will keep up with anything if you modify it enough.

It should keep up with a B16A fine as a stock D16 or JDM D15B on 8psi on a Greddy Drag kit. It shoudl beat the B16A no problem, it's only dropping 140-150 at the wheels, which means you only need to make 40-60hp to take it down - which def. isn't a problem. 8psi on a mid size turbonetics turbo or the like will you ~50. Though when you boost, you have something the B16 doesn't have - torque. That goes a long way.

"Horsepower sells motor cars, but torque wins motor races"
-- Carroll Shelby

That goes a long way (torque). If you're dropping 200hp and 190 ft-lbs of tq. (which you can do on stock internals and a good dyno tune) you can eat up GSR's, B16's, CTR's, and even give ITR's a run for their money (trans is a bit too short for u to beat 'em though).

You can sleeve that motor with stronger rods and lower comp pistons and with a bigger turbo you can make 300hp to the wheels. That's hella cheaper than a B16A swap, and obviously with over twice the power and almost 3x the torque you'll eat 'em up.

The problem with the B16A (and the CTR as well) is that it feels like a D16 before ~4k RPM.

Get your car tuned better, pump up the psi a bit and get it tuned properly, or drop the engine, build it up a bit, and run more boost at it.

The best way BY FAR to get power out of a low displacement motor is turbocharging - you already have everything in place, just emphasize it more...

damn i wanna test this theory. im sure it would be real close though my b16 feels like my d15 till i get to 4k, but thats why b16 trans are geared the way they are. your rev's shouldn't drop below 4k unless you were driving slow to super conserve gas or something.
