Default NEED CLARIFICATION!!!! 96-98 EX with 98+ Spec B18c5 swap

Hey guys before i go any further. You can tell by the number of post ive had. This is still somewhat new to me. IDK if im not using the right search criteria or what. But i just need some help from those who know..

I have a 97 honda civic ex coupe.. 5 speed

Parts needed:

98+ spec ITR motor/tranny
99-00 Civic Si T bar
99-00 Civic Si driver side upper mount
Innovative or Hasport D/B series mounts
Hasport B swap shift linkage.
Del SOL AC bracket to reuse my D Series AC.

What ECU should i be running? I wanna keep all this ODB2.. So i wont have to swap ECUs come inspection time.

IM going JDM so i dont have to wire up the CFK, plus i just wanna go NA.

What ECU can i run without having to wire up 2 O2 sensors? the primary and secondary that the USDM motors have?

Also power steering? Will the pump bolt on with my D series lines for my rack and pinion?

Are there certain year OEM axels that will work with the swap or what. PLEASE HELP!!!
And i live in Dallas, TX so no CA emission. Thanks in advance for any input.

P73 ITR ECU

JDM ECUs wont communicate with a scan tool which is a must in just about every state with emissions testing. Its very simple to run a USDM ECU and fool the ECU into the thinking the CKF is there and working.

JDM ECUs wont look for a secondary O2 sensor, again though they wont normally pass emissions testing. The car is already wired for a secondary O2 sensor anyway though so its not really any extra work to run one anyway.

As long as you have a '98+ Integra P/S bracket you can just reuse the D-series pump.

'94 - '01 Integra, '94 - '97 Del Sol VTEC and '99 - '00 Si will all bolt up and work fine.

Btw, you don't need a hasport linkage, and '94 - '01 Integra or '99 - '00 Si linkage will work fine.

at the top of this forum there is a FAQ thread. You can find nearly everything you want to know about about 92-00 civics including swap information. I suggest you bookmark it in your web browser.
Here is a link to the FAQ --------> https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/faqs-frequently-asked-tech-questions-1998336/

It's not the mount, but the mount "post"....the part that goes in between the mount and the engine block

"JDM ECUs wont communicate with a scan tool which is a must in just about every state with emissions testing. Its very simple to run a USDM ECU and fool the ECU into the thinking the CKF is there and working."

So what ECU should i be looking for to run this as a DD and pass emissions? It came with a p73,, but im not gonna run it if i have to swap it out later.

.. and JDMADAM I'm looking in the FAQs... the time it took you to be an *** you could've just helped me OBI WAN... geees. Thanks in advance for all your assitants guys.

In the FAQs theres a thread about which P/S to you. It its all over the place..some say have to swap lines. IDK. So i just need to make sure i have a 98+ integra P/S bracket to reuse my D series P/S pump correct? and same for A/C find a CRV A/C bracket to use my D series A/C.. Am i using the D series belts with these set ups??

Dude WTF! Nobody is trying to be an ***. I just thought it would be useful to point you in the direction of the FAQ section.

Now... I dont know your state laws, so your laws could be different. My friend used a obd1 p28 ecu chipped to pass inspection and plus you will probably want a chipped ecu anyway at some point. For the power steering you have to use a 99-00 civic si power steering pump and use the same lines in your car. The AC, i dont know to much about because I never left the AC in my cars, maybe someone else can help you on that. I did hear that you have to use the del-sol ac bracket.

It wont.

Then you'll need a USDM OBD2A ECU. Pick up a USDM P73. You can either buy a USDM ITR oil pump and CKF sesnsor (around $300 IIRC) or perform the CKF trick shown here --> http://technet.ff-squad.com/ckftrick.htm

Im sorry i forgot to mention that the scan tool will not communicate obd1. Where im from the only time the inspector pulls out a scan tool is if you have a CEL, so by using a chipped obd1 ecu we can turn off any CELs we might have.

if u want to pass emissions u will need a ckf and the sec o2 sensor u can do the ckf trick but ive heard it causes prob later down the road (i changed the oil pump and added the sensor). if u are gonna use a usdm ecu then the sec o2 is a must cause it will look for it ur car is already wired for it, u may have to extend the wires though, all u have to do is make sure it has a cat and the sensor. as for the shift linkage u should be able to use one from the 00 si. u will need the 00 si rear mount and the driver side mount between the post and the block. not a 100% on this but u need a integra ecu from 96-98 because of the immobilizer

OK guys i need some more help. after readin the FAQs and repeated searches. I THINK IM GOING USDM MOTOR with S80 tranny. I've come to the follow conslusions. I just need reassurance Im on the right path?? Can i use a 00-01 Motor with my EX 96-98 harness an A02 or A03 P72 and pass inspection in Texas? Can I use a OBD2B motor with a OBD2A Harness & ECU? Also to elimate the IAB issue, i can swap to a skunk2 or blox intake manifold correct? and ill need to get an extension wire for my primary 02 sensor correct?
ECUs 37820-P72-A02 96 GSR OBDIIa
37820-P72-A03 97 GSR OBDIIa
Can you use the 96 ECU and still pass inspection?
37820-P72-A04 98-99 GSR OBDIIa, has a fuel tank sensor Will THROW CEL correct??!! So I want to avoid this ECU??

Correct, i'd just run the 2 wires though, the GS-R manifold gives you low end torque you'll loose with a Skunk2 manifold (you'll gain power in the upper end, but i'd rather have power down low)

Correct.

Yes, in most states, you can't in California unless its going into a '96 Civic, but its the only state I know of that's that picky.

If your Civic is an EX model it will normally have this sensor so it wont matter. CX/DX models don't and it will throw a CEL.

There's some good information in this thread. Thanks to all contributions!
I'm shooting for a b18c5 once winter is over, I'm also driving a 97 ex. So this will come in handy.
