need build help....
long story short, i cant do any internal work right now on my d16z6 but i can do all bolt ons and ****. if i put intake, TB, IM, header, Cat, exhaust, misc fuel and ignition. will my engine be alright or will i be risking blowing it?
it has 110,000 miles with a compression test coming back with 170, 170, 175, 170 psi.
no tuning.
Thanks Doug.

Ok, lets think about this... you want to put an intake, throttle body, intake manifold, header, catalytic converter, and fuel/ignition?
<FONT SIZE="4">WHY????</FONT>
for the $2k you are going to spend on all of that nonesense you can pick yourself up another motor. Im sorry, but all those things you listed are complete crap for a D16z6. I still wish I could go back and kick myself in the nuts for the intake, header and exhaust I put on my D16z6 6 years ago. Complete and total waste of money.

it will be fine, add a nice cam, ignition system, and definitely a tune. dont worry about what everyone else says. do what you want.

Uh, then WTF was the point of creating this pointless thread? He is right though, do what you want. If you want to drop 2k into a D16z6 and still have it be slow as **** then it's all up to you. I would much rather put that 2k into a swap so you have a better platform to work on or possibly a turbo set up. That is just me, and what do I know right?

that would be the point of creating this pointless thead lol
dont get me wrong i did the same thing with my z6. but i dont really regret it, i had fun, put down a lot od dohc's. but next time i will be boosting instead. not everyone wants mad power or to deal with installing a turbo system. besides starting with bolt-ons is a good way to learn your car.
