Need advice! 95 Civic EX Coupe!
I recently purchased a GBP 95 Civic EX Coupe (5 speed)
I picked it up for 1660 with 117,000 original miles.
The plan was to use as a daily and winter beater so my 06 rsx type s could stay cooped up and get rid of it right after the winter, but now I'm decided whether its worth it to fix some stuff up, keep it for a little while, and sell it for more. Only problem is I need to figure out if it's worth it.
I have a buddy that will fix all the body work (honda cancer) and repaint it for $500 which puts me at about 2100.
Also since the last owner took the air box off and stuck a wrong sized aftermarket air filter in the stock hosing, I would need an intake which I'm guessing will be anywhere from $30-$70 depending on where I get it.
Since the shifter is super loose I'm assuming I need to replace the spring pin as well as the shifter bushings (which would be a good time to get a short shifter) this will run me roughly $70 as well is what I'm assuming.
Currently has chrome hub caps so I need to get wheels/tires which could be $150 or more
Also I saw a "dress up kit" that replaces all the bolts in the engine bay with stainless steel ones for a little over $100 which now I'm thinking isn't even worth it but I did want to replace them because my stock ones are rusted.
I may need to do a couple small things here and there as well.
Do you guys think this is worth it? All this stuff is roughly an $800 investment and could get a little higher depending. That means I spent $2400 which I don't know if I would get back on a car like this. With all the work and stuff I would want to get at least $2500-2700 back from the investment.
Really want your suggestions, see if you would do anything different or what not. Let me know, all help is appreciated.
