How bad is the rear end damage? Frame damage? I would go to a DOHC engine and swap that into what ever Honda you choose. If you like preludes, the H22A is a great motor to swap into what ever you choose.

the frame is really messed up and the body has holes in floor, but what about the manual to auto conversion

If the frame is really messed up, I would scrap the car. I love all Honda's, but a 88' prelude with bad frame damage, it's not worth swapping anything into it. Personally, I would look for a good motor like a b18c1, or b16a, possibly a b18c5 if you can get one for a good price, then get a hatch or a ej8/em1 and swap it into one of those.

i dont think it will work. you better off just getting a swap. and f you gonna swap why keep auto tranny. if you wanna keep the auto tranny then might as well keep the stock motor

Scrap it. Both the lude and the idea.

Why do you want an auto? Can you not drive a manual?
