Default name that part

hello, I'm just trying to figure out the name of a part. its a weird spine-looking thingy that goes all the way across the top of the cam and valve assembly in the head. it's the piece that has the bolt-holes for the valve cover.

one of the valve cover bolt holes has broken off and i need to order a new part so that i will stop pissing oil all over the engine compartment (dont worry, it broke off while we were reassembling the engine... we recovered the pieces before they got into the engine.)

Car? Engine?

If you hope to get useful replies, then provide all pertinent information about your car and engine:

It depends on what year/make/model/trim you have. All the engines are different. You can look up parts yourself on Hondapartsnow.com by filling out the a fore mentioned information. Then select engine, then select cylinder head. This will show you all the parts and part numbers.

BTW: If it's a cam-cap, that is bad news. You cannot buy those separate from the head (because they are line-bored for the cam together as an assembly).

sorry, d16z6 in a ej1

it appears to be holder, lost motion. thanks for the tip on that site. solved my 1-year long mystery on this part that is causing a nasty amount of oil to be pissed around in the engine compartment.

Heh, I had this same thing happen to my head before I finally drilled it out and tapped in a helicoil.
My solution was to use some silicone gasket and basically glue that valve cover bolt over the hole to keep the oil from getting everywhere.
Worked for like two years before I replaced the head due to other problems
Good luck!
^^
