Icon2 Name this connector....

Hey guys, I have a connector/plug that seems to not have a home...What I have is a 97 dx that I've completely converted to si harnesses. underdash, indash, floor, rear and engine have all been swapped out for the 00 si. Now after I got through connecting everything I had one lonely plug left well maybe 2 but I have taken pictures so you have an idea this is by the hood release/fuse panel area and no it doesn't go into the fuse panel....believe me I've checked and checked infact if you look I took it all apart again to check. Now I am having an issue with starting and I think this may have something to do with this at least why my "new" power windows don't work (si doors). The car cranks in the on Position without the cluctch being depressed! and when you put the key in the start position it runs but you have to hold the key there otherwise it simply cranks nonstop by itself. Anyway any help would be appreciated

That Connects to your Fusebox or into the engine harness. i remember my friends car had the same connector but its been so long.

Maybe its to a relay the big relay for most the starting components.

This may help. Look right below the steering wheel to the left hand side. i see where the green clip is so check on your car in that area and not the hood release area.

Thanks for the links...I did look at those clips but there are other color coordinated plugs like this one and they are blue however they have a home....The main relay assembly is actually behind the glove box on my 97 and it is plug in correctly there.....looks like Im pulling my dash again this sucks so much butt. I just got my b18c in on sat and was hoping to ride this weekend....I knew I would have issues with the conversion but damn not like this. Plus all of my friends are either out of town or unavailable to take a look at their cars....or they are out of the civic scene...this truly is my last build. Well off to the junkyard I guess.

lol, ya you will have to pull the dash to have a good view of what your working with and see where it goes.

That most likely is the problem as why its not starting. Good Luck!

Can anyone confirm that this goes to the cruise control relay (which I disconnected thinking I didn't need it)

that seems like to many wires in one clip to be the cruise control relay.

Did you get the keyless entry module from the Si? That connector looks like the keyless entry box that sits behind the driver side kick panel. It's a white box. How many pins are on that connector?

It has 12 pins and the white box I do have....says something about a/c fcc compliance or other in fact if you look at the top pick bottom right that is the plug going into the white box. I def. remember unpluggin a module that connected to the harness and I could've sworn it was a cruise control relay. but any additional help would be appreciated because from what I have read this is my issue. I have no turn signals dash lights or anything like that which relays through this module.

i have my 96 hatch wired up like an SI also. i changed all the wiring and it works perfectly fine with out that blue plug (which like said earlier is for cruise control).. plugged in.

if you're having that many problems though, i would go back and re-check everything.

Thanks for the info....I only counted the wires and not the actual pins hence the 12. geneeunit if i'm not misstaken the turn signals go thru this module if I read it correctly, RonJ you seem to have the resources to pull that info to confirm....would you be willing to do so? Geneeunit I have literally repulled my dash (not completely still attached to the fuse box) to recheck all of the wiring and everyplug has a home with the exception of the dome light (dont need it) and the c404. I've swapped main relays, fuse boxes, ignition wiring (not the cylinder) and this car still cranks in the on position without the clutch being pressed which If my logic is sound this would have a big part in at least the turn signal and clutchless cranking issue im having due to how cruise control engages. I don't know I'm headed to the yard today to pull one and see what happens....I'll let you know.

thanks

the cruise control unit does not affect anything if unplugged, and none of the lights are connected through it at all. as for the car still cranking with the clutch not depressed, it might be that the switch is bad.

double check all your wiring though. if you need pictures of anything.. ask, because i just got done doing this to my hatch about 3-4 weeks ago.

this might help you out too.

Disconnected C404 is not causing your problems:

Ok I will use the diagram to check each wire....this is the most baffling thing I've ever ran into...I would much rather lift a motor by hand and drop it on my foot than deal with wiring any way wish me luck. I'll keep everyone posted for future reference.

Check whether someone bypassed the starter switch at the top of the clutch pedal by inserting a jumper wire into the 2P connector.

and when you put the key in the start position it runs but you have to hold the key there otherwise it simply cranks nonstop by itself.
You either have a bad ignition switch or the ignition switch wires are mispinned.

The last comment is the one I've been playing with....I swapped the 1(st) and 3(bat) on the 7p connector and the car would start/crank in the correct position but I still had to hold the key there and the clutch in otherwise it would die. In this mode it also does not display any dash lights in the on position it just looks like its in the off/acc position until you turn the key to the start position everything on the dash comes on and lights up. However switching the 5p connectors and any combination does nothing in fact it wont crank with them in any combination position...mind you it still cranks with only the 1(st) wire pinned in the 3(bat) wire doesnt even have to be plugged in....hopefully someones heard of this?
