NA d16z6
i have a d16z6 that i want to build up with no boost. so far i have the head ported. i was wondering what would have to be done to be able to get the most performance possible out of a d16z6?

Re: NA d16z6 (squirrelrun)
You said you have a ported head so you might want to include a performance cam along with valvetrain. I/H/E, intake manifold with a B-Series throttle body and 88-89 Integra pistons, Good Luck on your build and don't let no one discourage you from building an NA SOHC. The key for a quick NA SOHC is power to weight ratio, so make sure to cut back on unnecessary weight as much as possible.

bullfrog cam
that **** is nuts, with the right valvetrain and pistons, I've seen them with some 150-180hp

Re: (squirrelrun)
deffinatle go with itr throttle body, then eddlebock intake maifold of if cash is tight get a y8 im, a ebay cai w/ k&n filter, throttlebody spacer, then im not really familiar with brands for pistons, valves, springs, rods, cams, and all that good stuff. but also get pulleys, i beleive unorthodox racing makes some decent ones but aem has some too. and as stated before weight reduction is a must. no back seats no spare etc.

haha another dude like me lol ya im doing the same thing dude what im doing is getting pistons from an 88 integra to boost compresson...s200 ecu also knife edge ur crank...if ya want replace cams and cam gear....im going moroso oil pan eventually but for now im using a d16y7 pan pickup...i have a fluidlyine radiator in the car already also i have an cold air intake in it already...with a 5zigen cat back...and dc headers...y8 intake manifold is best d-series intake mani
i have no clue on d-series rods though i want as close as 1.75 rod ratio as i can and i do not know the d series rod ratios so if any1 can help
lotta research into this hopefully it has helped u
ps when i was doing research none came out of the blue like i did and tell u exactly what im doing....but if u decide to go turbo(i know it says NA but ppl change their minds) KEEP ur z6 p28 pistons there dished instead of domed and for boost or nitrous u want dished lo comp...
also if u decide to go carb (get more power plus the rarity and fuel economy) use the usdm d15b intake manifold and slap a stronburg on it im tuning mine so it takes a duel barrlel

Re: (jdm_tim)
for cams crower makes a very good stage 3 cam, also comp cams make good sohc cams for honda's, valvetrain i would also go with either of those companies, depending on how much you want to spend you can either shotpeen your rods, or buy some forged rods from eagle or another company. to N/A SOHC

Re: (Civicse)
If you really want power out of the SOHC, get it sleeved and bored to 1.8L push the compression to 12.5:1 get some ultralight rods and crank. Itb's would also do wonders for it. You need quite a bit of money to build a powerful n/a d16 there is no way around it. You can do a cheap build i think b18c5-eh2 has one that he has done a mild build on using all OEM parts he found laying around, and from what i've heard it is pretty quick
