Default My window is stuck...again(1997 Civic)!

The search function is temporarily disabled, so no luck there. I was hoping some of you could help me out. This has happened several times now, and I'm wondering if there is any way of permanently fixing the problem myself.

The window only gets stuck when my window is wet(from rain, moisture, whatever). It completely comes off track(pulls out from the rubber groove that the window should be sitting in). I'm getting tired of constantly taking my damn door apart. I know how to fixed the problem, but it keeps coming back. So, I guess I'm not really fixing the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get this fixed today.

Thanks.

I've gone through the EXACT same thing with my 1996 EX. I just kept having to screw with it and screw with it until it finally stopped for a while. Then, both of my window regulators broke (not at the same time) and I had to replace those too. Honda may make good cars, but their window systems suck ***.

i would check the window channels on how it comes off the track. the rubber part might be worn out if it keeps on doing it

Are the window channels, the rubber tracks that the window sits in? I just got it put back together. I guess if it happens again(which it will), I'll look into replacing the channels. Is this a hard thing to replace?

Thanks.

Yea that's what the run channel is, spray some silicone on them too where the glass contacts the seal.
Also be sure your window regulator or the tabs on the bottom of the glass arent broken. Then look at where the run channel connects to the door and be sure that isn't bent.
But you guys are right 96 and up civic windows suck.

Hey, what kind of spray silicone should I use? That's a great idea! I think that would help tremendously. The window regulator and tabs are fine. Thanks.

I would recommend NO.

I might react adversly with the rubber (not sure) but it will also just make a mess. Just invest in the spray can of silicone lube, you will be happy.

I have heard of some people using axle grease in there....not to sure how well that works.
