Default IS IT MY TRANNY OR CLUTCH

yest. staged the car went to take off and rpms just went way up, thought i broke the axles, changed those out same thing, the car will go into every gear fine, but when i let up on the clutch it just revs and makes a noise like grinding sorta, if i put the car into reverse then its fine, sometimes if i reverse for a lil bit then put into gear it will go for a lil bit then sorta just stalls and grinds again, is this my clutch or my tranny, i changed the axles twice so i know its not that, someone let me know, someone told me it could be my slave cylinder but im like that doesnt sound right at all, any help would be appreciated

Well it could be the slave cylinder, but after you did what you said you did the clutch is fucked too now. I replaced my slave and master cylinders when I bought my car. MAKE SURE you have the flywheel machined when you get a new clutch. The easy way to see if it the slave cylinder is have someone push your clutch. Move that rubber boot on the slave cylinder a little bit so you can see the fork. If it moves and stays where it goes when the clutch is depressed then there is no need to replace. If it doesn't move at all or if it moves and then slides back while the clutch is still depressed replace that first then try again, but I think your clutch is fucked too. Good luck man and keep us posted on progress so we can walk you through any problems.

Honestly i think you messed up your clutch it almost sounds like you shattered it? because if it feels like your shifting but not moving i would say its clutch. But with that reveres tid bit im leaning towards tranny. The best way would be to check the slave Unlikely but easy to check just remove the boot and have someone press on it. While thats out you can look in your bell housing and see whats going on. also remove the inspection plate on the bottem for a better view if need be.

What the hell are you talking about?

A broken axel wouldent make it so you couldent shift. there completly different and have totally different proplems when they break.
