I have a 2000 civic ex auto 2dr. At 65.. on my speedometer, I get passed by slow traffic, and multiple radar booths on the highway say Im going like 58-59.. At first I thought it was the radars, but in a truck and a camry, they were bang on at 65. Each booth read it just about the same each time.

What could be causing this? And how can I fix it? I have the stock tire size. And I think stock replacement rubber on it, Uniroyal. If it helps im about 2500 rpm at 65, and say 3000 at 72-5 as read by stock tach.

If i were you id take it somewhere, you need to know if your speedo is off or is it your Vss. if its the the speedo thats off you have to take the needle off and press it back on in the correct position. Pain in the butt i did a write up on it a while back. Now if its your Vss its a lot easier to correct just put in a new sensor. More unlikely to be the proplem but worth a try its easy to fix but not cheap so if you know someone who has one you can borrow go for it.

i go past speed traps and its always like 6-8 mph lower than wat my speedo reads, but i got a ticket for goin 60 and my speedometer read 60... so i think ill trust the cops speed he gave me.

The only way to be sure with those things is to be the only car thats going past it but the ones they have around here are pretty damned accurate ive found.

yeah, it was accurate, with every car I drove past except mine.. hence, why I know my speedo is off...
