My son's '95 civic coupe has bad trunk leak - can't locate HELP, PLEASE...
Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink!
The water does not appear to be coming from the rear window trim as it did with his '92 Accord. He thinks it is coming from somewhere around the latch - that is the only spot that the carpet is wet up the side... can anyone give me any insight on this?
I don't think it is the sunroof drains, but I have not actually checked them. NO water coming in through the dome light, etc.

Damn, I wished my dad tried to help me fix my car. All he says when I have a problem is "what do you expect from a japanese car".

My roommates Integra had a water leak problem recently. He traced it back to the tailights. The seal was bad, and it's been raining pretty hard (for Cali ) so the hatch area was soaked, he siliconed around the light, problem solved.

i know this may sound stupid, but have someone stay inside the trunk while its closed and hose down the trunk area and the person inside could possibly track down the leak with a flash light...its just an idea, ive never had my trunk leak so i wouldnt know...flame me if you'd like

I actually did climb into the trunk of my son's last car. We could see that water had been running down the inner walls of the trunk. It was a '92 Accord - turns out the rear window lower trim clips were leaking. The window had been removed for tinting and new clip seals not installed. In fact, the 'technicians' glued the trim back on with a black compound that looked like windshield sealant..
We used two-way FM radios to direct the water stream to differents parts of the car until water came through.
Accord trunks are a lot more roomy than you mights think....

I want to thank all of you for your help and suggestions. I took a close look at the trunk gasket this weekend. a section of it just below the latch was miss-shapen. It looks like something heavy had been put on it and the enderlaying metal was bent down a little. You can see the residue of water drops on hte bottom of the trunk inside the line of hte gasket.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
