My Sol just won't start
Hi All, I'm new to the forum and hope some of you guys can help me out with this before I cry.
I have a 92 Sol, D-B swap that was done about 10 months ago, the B16 had low miles (about 50k) and was in good shape, gave it a bit of a refresh - new head gasket, timing belt, plugs, oil etc etc. And it has been running like a dream ever since!!
Until recently...
Driving along and heard what sounded like a belt wear sound, but then it went away. about 5 mins later cruising at about 40 and all power dropped and the revs cut to about 500 rpm, throttle response died even with foot to the floor nothing. pulled over (by the power of will alone) and then the engine stalled out. I haven't been able to get it started since. The brake down guy couldn't figure it so towed me home, So far I have checked....
Spark - OK on all 4 cylinders
Fuel - OK
Compression - OK - from 1 -4 (160, 160, 160, 140) <- a bit low but not a disaster.
Distributor - changed just incase - no difference
Timing - OK
Earths - OK
Battery - OK
Basically it cranks and cranks but just won't turn over, it feels like one of the above is missing from the equation but they are all present and accounted for. The only thing I did notice was the alternator belt had a vertical split in it, although it was still on and seemed OK.
I suppose my question now it, what else could it possibly be??? Its a B16a2 for reference. Im pulling my hair out at this and short of dragging the motor back out and stripping it down again im short of possibilities. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: My Sol just won't start
If you didn't replace the tensioner or did something wrong with the timing belt it could have jumped a tooth. Like Ron said check the crank/cam timing.
have to checked the fuses with a test light to make sure none of them blew?

Re: My Sol just won't start
I checked the cam/crank timing. All seem to be as should ve - I'll try and get some pics up when I get home from work. Haven't checked the dizzy timing (don't have timing light + engine won't fire up) but this is positioned exactly as always and has Mark on body to match up if ever removed. I have visually checked all fuses both under dash and under hood. It is a European Delivery (based in UK)

Re: My Sol just won't start
Check the relay and fuses again, (as said, non only with eyes).
Since there was a noise from the engine part before that happens, i will bet as Ron.
I had a same problem with a Lude 3 gen h20a3 swap, and it was the timing, which looks like as correct, but one tooth was jumped, then CEL errors, and the result was car which wont start. So, long story short:
Check fuses, timing, reset the ecu, check ecu for errors, and give us an update!, I hope you to fix this easy..
