my sohc used to rev to 8,000
Ok, I know all of you will be like whatever you dont know what your talking about blah blah, but I have many witnessed of this. Before its rod snapped and got fucked up, my old d16z6 used to gain power up to 8,000 RPM's with no fuel cut off or anything. I still don't know if the ECU was chipped or not when I bought it- I'm guessing it def. was, but I just wanted to see what you guys think. My best time with it was 15.3 @ 93 in my del sol.

if it were chipped, i believe you. Ive seen sohc's rev way past that.

acutally there were few ecus around (which had the oem ROM installed)
they seem to came only on the cars from 8-9-10-11-12/91 production
they were able to rev till about 7900-8000rpm (which is around 7500-7600rpm) due to stock tach being off.

has to be a modded chip on the ECU. with my chip in my max power is at 7600 but it does feel like it has good power all the way to 8000rpm. When we were first writing the chip we forgot to put the fuel cut in and the car reved all the way to 10,000 on the rolling road.

I have reved to about 8000. When I did though my car made a really loud popping sound. Im guessing thats not good for it.
