my sohc non vtec motor97lxis knocking under load around 2k continuely if held there!
should i worry about it? allmost sounds like a rod knock but i think the cams making the noise, like how a a.c compressor knocks if its low on oil. i turned the a.c off and same thing happens. i have valvoline 5w30 motor oil in it now. also have you heard of running a qt of trans oil through the engine to (flush) and clean it out? 
how about poring some in the tb to clean the carbon?

i can hear it when it wants to shift to 3rd or 4th. are these interferance if the belt breaks? valve tap is like a tick right?
