since i put the new motor in it idles high and also when i go to rev it it just dies out, and almost stalls. and when i go down the road i have to rev it really high and ride the clutch to move it at all. i have no i clue what it could be. someone help.

its a 1992 honda civic dx with a D15. my friend said it might be the ecu or the distributer.

no i did not check timing and i changed the idle air control valve and its running alot better . woud ineed to get it tuned for it to run right?

Marc, Could be a alot of things.

we dont know:

ECU used
Map Calibrated
Fuel pressure
etc,etc..


The backyard ASE mechanics are becoming more rampant on HT..lol

Check to make sure your Map sensor is properly connected and not mixed up with the TPS connector.

The only thing "wrong" that we know about is your thread. You haven't given us ANY relevant information, and you expect us to miraculously tell you what's wrong. You need to give us ALL relevant information. FULL engine code, head code, any work done, ECU being used, CELs, wiring harness being used, chassis it's in, as well as anything else that might be relevant.

You can't just say "I have a D15 and it isn't running right, what's wrong?" We aren't mind readers, and we aren't magicians.

i just replaced the motor. when i did that i but my old intake manifold on it replaced my tps and the check engine light comes on ofter it idles like a tractor for a little. i blocked off what i think is my iac valve and that makes the check engine light come on, after it comes on it idles fine and each time i turn on the car the code resets.

I gave you a very short list of things you need to tell us, and you answered exactly ZERO of those queries. If you aren't willing to tell us those things, do everyone who is trying to help you a favor and just stop posting. If you aren't capable of posting those things, tell us why you aren't capable and we can try to fix that problem.

i would start with the fact you blocked off the iac valve stuff is there for a reason cant just take it away and expect things to work
