hey guys im new here and im new to the honda game. im an ex dsm'er. for obvious reasons. and i just picked up a 1999 hx. i barely know anything about honda except for the obvious things (gsr,vtec,ctr,itr,).

can anyone tell me the pros and cons of having a hx?

hx's are slow. But they have heads with roller rockers so you can get a nasty cam and a retune. You can boost the engine and make decent power and still have insane low end gas mileage.

Yes I do like the wheels alot. And that's sick but I prolly won't rip it apart till next year. But I I'm really happy with what Im hearing about this car. I looks like the switch to Honda was a very good one.

its dirt cheap for the most part like every honda. not to say you can't get highend parts though and burn a hole in your pocket.

The hx is pretty good since it's pretty much the lightest trim. The wheels are like 9 pounds each or something.

With a B16 swap it would be faster then a Si.

With an HX you never have to worry about replacing window motors or moonroofs. ::

Being cheaper in original purhase cost gives you more $$ in your pockets for suspension upgrades and a swap

my buddy had a hx crx and my god i wanted to blow my brains out because it was so slow.my 1.5 jed d15b with vtec is faster then any hx

yeah HX is an LEV its not meant to be fast. Not every one goes on SPEED and Fast you know

i have an hx that i ran a 17.03 for the first time at the track ever. its not that fast, but u can make it. im going to do a b18c1 swap and i just put gc/konis on it this week. you can make it very nice looking and pretty quick. i would deff do a swap and drop it alil. it look a hundred times better. ill put up pics of my hx
