he said it was a 93, and the vtec on valve cover was only on 94-95 del sol si i think, so it could just have the vtec valve cover on the stock motor...or they blew the original motor and put that motor in from a del sol

My 1993 D16Z6 looks exactly the same.

Look on the left side on front of the block for the engine code for absolute verification.

definately the motor is from 94-95 si/ex. 92-93 valve covers came with black paint on it, and 94-95 came with bare aluminum covers. the body, im goina say either cx. si's came with p/s, dx came with a/c, which might of gotten yanked;looks like weight reduction was takin place. do u have a passanger side rear-view mirror? if u do, DX, if not, CX. also side moldings. VX andCX didnt have them. put all these together and u should be able to figure it out.

edit**
noticed u need to replace right rear voew mirror. is there a plat peice of plastic there...its a CX body with a ex/si motor.

heh
on the left upper corner of the valve cover uve got a lil tit there.. on a d16z6 theres sposed to be a hose there

and btw.. d16z6's are nice engines to work with

theyre not as good as b16s... but they still have some good potential...

turbo that bitch and uve got an engine better then a b16
cheaper then a b16 swap too
heh

and thats not an si for sure.. i bet its a cx

dx's have matching rear 'spoiler's above the window.. cx's are black regardless of paint color
