Default My little white hatch build

I obtained this 93 Cx through a trade about 3 years ago. I don't have any pictures from the time I got it until now. The only thing done to this car was it was lowered on steelies and a D16Y8 swap. I haven't really had a whole lot of time to work on this car until now. I was on my way into the army and between basic and AIT then going to Korea for a year I am finally in a house and settled and can actually start working on this car. Getting a 02 Subaru Impreza WRX for a daily helps so i can keep this car safe in the garage. I have had 2 Honda's stolen from me. My beloved 00 Milano red EM1 and 93 Si hatch.

I was going to go with a K swap but with my goals with a K is out of my budget right now. So for now I am going to work with what I got. I am going to boost the D series. The Y8 is completely stock. I will be doing a wire tuck as well as finishing supporting suspension and exterior modifications.

What I have done so far:

Suspension- Tokico blue struts and skunk2 springs and eBay rear lower control bar. (Will be removed)

Brakes- Swapped GSR front spindles and rear control arms. Drilled and slotted rotors all the way around. Hawk pads up front and Oem Honda pads out back. Good-ridge SS brake lines.

Wheels and Tires- Flat black Rota Circuit 8's and Falken Azenis.

Exterior- Sebion carbon fiber duck bill no led. Oem ex front lip. Vision amber corner lights. Oem stanley amber side marker lights with password jdm wiring. Oem honda mud flaps. Painted Honda emblems black.

Interior- Sony head unit and Sony front door speakers. Skunk2 short throw shifter and Skunk2 weighted shift ****. Broadway mirror.

Performance- Aem short ram intake. HKS high power exhaust.

First thing on the agenda is getting this car fully converted to OBD 1. Not exactly sure what this guy did with the swap but I am going to fix this mess of wires.

Here are a few pics. Need to find a nice place around here to take some good quality pictures. I know my paint is chipped in some places. A new paint job is in order as well.

Received a package today. Thanks to BlueR for a great price and fast delivery. Got my my skunk 2 manifold today. Need a Z6 fuel rail cause they Y8 has the FPR to the left. Need it on the right.

Debating if I should order a hondata intake manifold gasket.

This morning I rolled the car out of the garage to rinse off the excess fuel and antifreeze off the back side of the engine and clean it up some. Went to Honda this morning to order some OEM parts for my manifold.

When I was pulling off the injector clips I lost one. When I rolled it outside in the sun I found it laying right here.

Got to pick up another fuel rail and vtec harness this weekend.

Got around to working on the car after being in the field for 4 days. Came home and my gasket i ordered was here.

JHP was even nice enough to throw in a sticker and a 5% off next purchase

OEM hardware for my intake manifold

Had a problem with my IAT sensor fitting so got a file and fixed that problem

Everything put on

All positive and negative feed back is welcome

Rock chips...paint job in order? Bahhh! Only if you saw my paint job up close. And is the last thing on my mind at the moment. You should consider spending the money elsewhere for now. Car looks good. Will be checking for updates. Try and post pics of the wiring mess. I like to see what others thought was a "good job" or "good enough job". lol

Bump for you, really liking the simplicity of the build. I also like how on your 11th picture the VSS is filled perfectly with coolant lol.

Def a paint job is order a complete color change. Still deciding what color. I like the color of my motorcycle its called liquid grey metallic. I will get some more pics of the wiring.

Ya lol just pulled the intake manifold. I rinsed all the coolant out though and speed sensor works great.

I am debating on pulling the Y8 in order for a Z6 to simplify the wiring issue. Cause the car wont run right on a P28 and not sure why.

How bout pulling the y8 for at least a ls swap?

Replacing single cam for single cam is not very bright.

But hey...your money...your car

True but I have a Z6 that will cost me nothing so no money spent. Going with a ls swap I will have to spend money on mounts, throttle cable, ecu, and other misc parts. So a Z6 would be a direct swap and everything will just swap out so I don't see how you say its not bright. Everyone is entitled to there opinion but thats just my logic.

Looks promising buddy.
Where do you hangout in GA? Maybe we can meet up with Libertariat and check our cars out one of these days.

Awesome, spent a bit at benning for AIT back in 2001. Even was attached to the broken television during the initial push into baghdad.

Car looks great, the D16Z6 is a good reliable motor and for free, you can't go wrong. If I wasn't getting upper 30's for MPG out of my B16, I would consider going back to a D series.

As soon as I get the car running good like I want it I will start building a b series or boosting the D. Choices, what to do.

Free is a different story...if it was money spent, than yeah, put it somewhere useful. Good luck w/ the build.

You might be able to trade one of the motors and get a ls. I had a p28 in my del sol that was running a b16 until I chipped it. It is really easy and since you have a p28 anyway. Sounds like a good use for clothing allowance. I just used mine to buy s2k seats and new carpet.

Got a little up date for you guys. I was getting tired of seeing my obd 2 to obd 1 plug for my distributor so i made it obd 1 with a soldering gun, heat gun, and heat shrink.

Removed the old heat wire sheathing

New

All done

Removed Rywire sub harness from car. Also for sale by the way.

It runs good. The only thing is the clearance on the back. Its almost into the prop valve. I used a thermal intake manifold. With a standard paper gasket that extra 8th inch might help. I am thinking about doing a brake tuck anyways so it will solve that problem.

Random question for people. Where can i get a good deal on jegs an lines and fittings?
