Default my horn don't work

does anybody know where the relay for the horn is, my horn doesn't work and I've traced the wiring in the engine bay and everything looks good. It has to be something inside cause I tested my horn on my friends civic and it worked but when we didn't have it grounded it would just click and mine doesn't do that. anybody got any ideas or know where the relay for the horn is located at?

2000 honda civic SI, also my SRS is on and this happened at the same time, think they could be related. I researched into it and found that they use the same relay, true?

You can check the Fuse in the engine bay its labeled either Brake lights or Horn. I forget.

but check your brake lights.. if they work then you know it cannot be the fuse.

It sounds like its your cable reel. You have to remove the steering wheel to fix that. do a search someone did a wright up not that long ago.

When I read your title I first thought if your srs light was on, its another cable reel. It seems like Honda should have made a recall on these as they seem to be breaking quite frequenctly. I, myself have a broken cable reel also that I haven't gotten around to fixing but will sometime.

i don't think it is that cause I checked the wiring behind the steering wheel already and it all looked good.....the fuses look ok and my brake lights do work....what leads me to believe that it is the relay is when I push the button, there is no clicking noise and there should be. The only thing that I can think of is the relay that the SRS and the horn use together or the fuse under the hood, I have to look real good at those to make sure none of those are blown. but I do believe that it will turn out to be the relay the SRS and the horn use, I found a website that talks about that but for a 92 accord but maybe honda used the same schematic and it tells which relay and what wires are on them. so I'll check it out and let you guys know, especially you allmotorEG6civic so you can fix your too......

all the grounds are okay, here is the website that I was talking about, look at the last posting on this page, it talks about the relay that the SRS and the horn use in conjunction.

Well I am assuming you have a EG ..

find the PDF file for the EG and go to page 1139.

Now the relay I would have to trace but I am thinking near the SRS unit.. Now.. I would just take off the airbag and check the connections behind the steering wheel and see if you get continunity

i have the same problem with my horn, ive been without horn for 2 years, i checked the fuses n all, there all fine, i have no clue what it could be, i know the horn works, ive tested it on a friends car, ive noticed that my horn works out of no where like when its been parked outside in the sun when its REALLY hot out. it does happen to work only for a couple seconds.
