Interior door handle doesn't close properly and the lock barely works (SOLVED)
Hi all,
It's been getting progressively worse to the point now when I can barely open my door. I've seen a few videos on fixing the door lock but none seem to mention the problem with the interior handle not going into its position. One video suggests that a spring might be broken or missing, and another that a piece of metal might have broken off and needs to be welded back. It would be nice to know what it might be before taking the door apart. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Pull the door card off and begin inspecting. There is many parts and things that could cause this. All of them will be easily identifiable with a visual inspection. Of which can only be done properly after you pull the door card off.

Well, I have fixed it. It turned out that the lever on the lock, which is linked to the interior handle, rusted so badly that it couldn't swivel at all. The solution was simply plenty of WD-40.

See what you found taking that door panel off? Curiosity might have killed the cat, but it also fixed the car.
