My Friends car is stuck on the side of the road!
So he was driving down the street and his civic's RPM's just started falling and bogging, and it turned off. Its an EK with a D16...any troubleshooting tips?

should be in the box under the hood. its a 15amp
if thats blown it acts the same as if the main relay is out.

check the rotor button. also, dont try and look for the timing belt through the oil cap opening; you will just look silly.

thats why you look to see if the cam is spinning, if its not timing belt snapped. youd definitly not be able to see the timing belt from the oil cap thow lol

It's kind of like checking your air filter through your wheel's valve stem.

blowing that 15A fuse would shut it off immediately, it wouldnt bog down,
a snapped t/b would shut it off immediately
running out of gas would make it sputter
probably sucking in water but if he doesnt have an CAI
i'd say check your typical fuels and sparks

What he means is that there's absolutely ZERO way to see the timing belt through the oil filler hole. If you can see your timing belt through your oil filler hole, I, as well as the rest of H-T) want pics.

Shoot starting fluid in the throttle body. If the engine fires then you have a fuel problem.
When you turn the ignition key to first position do you hear the fuel pump whirrr to charge the fuel rail? If not it could be the fuel pump. Also change the fuel filter.

starting fluid is as good for your motor as reving it to 4K RPM and sticking a garden hose in the intake. come to think of it that might do less damage.
any way if you want to see if it a fuel problem use CARB cleaner it's cheaper and you wont risk cracking a piston.
