Re: my first mini me buildup (senrac)
if it's your first minime build then I'd stick to a nonvtec minime build up and stick with the 1.5 block since it'll be easier with timing belt and timing issues. A nice cheap minime is to use a cx/dx(d15b7/d15b8) block and use a d16a6(crx/civic si)head and to use the dx cam gear and dx timing belt. Even though it's just a 1.5 it's still pretty peppy with the si head on it. If you nonvtec then just keep using the nonvtec ecu and you don't really have to buy anything since the dx/cx dist just bolts right onto the a6 head perfectly. Just a cheap idea? Good luck with whatever your projects are and welcome.

thanks i have several options i just aquired seven civics in various states of decay
but each car is in pretty fair shape and mostly complete so i am hoping to pick and choose the chioce parts and sell anything else i can for aftermarket goodies thanks for the heads up but i really want to go v-tech this is my first jap build but not my first build i have a degree of confiendence in my ability and all the parts so i'm going big baby thanks again for the info i will put my im name on line as soon as i figure out how

With the vtec setup your gonna need a p28 and vtec dist which is gonna run you around the 150-200 range and then your gonna need a z6 timing belt. By the time your done with getting stuff for the mini me buildup it'll probably run as much as an actual z6 longblock. I love my b8/a6(cx block/crx si head) setup cause once you hit 6k it really pulls and it rev's so freely.

did a d16a6 block /with d16y8 head ...used that rpm switch from summit racing ... hardest part in that build was getting the crank shaft pulley bolt off ...

Re: (senrac)
make sure that when you do this you use the ex/si tranny I read somewhere that it can knock upto .7 seconds of your 1/4 and I also read to use the zc pistons it'll raise your cr. theres tons of infromation on how to build a mini me. I'm getting all the parts to start to build mine here in the next week or two. goodbye non-vtech and hellooooooooo vtech Make sure you keep everyone informed on how the build goes and if you're planning on doing a full build and get all the power out of it you can. I'm curious to see some what numbers these engines will put out.
