Re: My fan doesn't kick in PLEASE HELP (power_civic)
There could be different things that could be wrong. I would try connecting the fan directly to the battery and see if it turns on. If it does then it would be the thermoswitch and if it doesnt then its the fan. If it does turn on when its connected to the battery you could just wire a switch so u could turn on your fan whenever u wanted.
Someone correct me if im wrong.

Here is your problem. Follow the bottom radiator hose to the housing. At the back of the housing unplug the coolant fan switch wire harness. To verify that it is the coolant fan switch that has gone out take a bobby pin or piece of metal and plug it into the wiring harness to complete the circuit. This should turn your fan on right away. If it does, it is the coolant fan switch that has gone out and needs to be replaced. Only costs about $13-$20. Let me know if this solves the problem

I put a paper clip on to the switch, and the fan does go on, so i guess it's must be the switch, i'll go and buy them see if it's fix

i was gonna buy the switch but i'm kinda short for money right now, so i was just wonder if it's okay if i just put the paper clip on it and let the fan run all the time? Also my Motor is only around 50,000 kms, so how can the switch die so fast?? or how does it die anyway, thanx for ur help again

i have the same problem, i think it has to do with my engine harness... when i switched over to gsr harness... i guess the wire color changes or stops... im too lazy to fiz it so i will take car of it when i drop my next motor in... try taking the integ helms manual and civic manual and compare the two, follow the wires and see if it is the same... if not modify it to make it work... i have two friends that have the same problem....but i know of others that have their fans work when they swapped over....

You might wanna check the coolant temp sensor and/ or the connections in the wiring to the fan unit...sometimes the leads or the pigtails can corode and the connection will be crappy.
Another thing...if you did an engine swap, make sure the wiring is done properly, and that the pigtails match up.
