Default My engine seems to be accelerating by itself?

ok so today i went to go take pics of my car cause i'm hoping to be selling it soon. I turned it on and let it run for like 5 mins...then all of a sudden...my engine started accelerating by itself. I took it around the block a couple of times, seeing if that would fix the problem and nothing. I stopped in the middle of my street and held the break and it felt as if the car still wanted to go. I let go of the brake and away my car went, when it came time to stop it was really hard. i had to apply alot of force to the break. this is just a straight street, its not downhill or nething. Any clue on how to help me? This problem has happend before but it just went away after a day.

So obviously your car is an automatic or you have a very unique way of driving.

What year? Mileage?

I'd have to go with what others have agreed upon that it's something jammed with the throttle body/throttle body cable/butterfly..

Check 'em, see if they move the way they're supposed to...
