My Ej7 Progress (97 Civic)
Well I bought this car in August wanting a new car that has better MPG then my 3rd Gen lude it was like 25mpg.
Now I get about 42ish in this civic. I bought it rear ended as you will see in the pics. I pretty much had to cut and weld the qtr panel, new trunk, new bumber, new trunk floor, and firewall.
How I first bought the car.

Re: My Ej7 Progress (97 Civic)
First thing I did was go part hunting. IN the junkyard.
Looking for a trunk and a qtr panel bc the stealership won't be cheap.
As you can see the trunk is nowhere from closing right.
OOH and those are the rims I will have on the car

Now that i have the parts. I started to cut the QTR Panel to put the new piece bc their is no way I can fix that QTR panel anymore.
This Is how It came out now with The new QTR welded on. and the trunk floor and firewall and bumber replace..
Looks Good right
New Bumber and Tailights

These are the last pics of it that I have now. Ready to be painted soon. I lowered more bc it needs "moar low"
Now debating on what color to paint.
Electric Blue of the Si or the Subura STI blue (lil differnce) or a Tiffany Blue

How much did you pay for the car? You did a really really good job to get that thing back on the road. Looks VERY good. A body shop would have probably chared $5k or more to fix that. lol What did you spend on fixing it as well?
This car will give you many years of reliable driving and saving money on gas/repairs. Great thread. I really like it a lot. Once this thing is painted it will look great. But for what it was to where it is now is still a 100% improvement. NICE.

Drove it home for like 20miles like that. People were like WTf?? lol
I bought it for $800
$500 in parts
Approx $300 painting materials.
and $200 in etc
So about less then $2000 for everything and my dad does all labor work and paint soo yeah.

Mine is salvage though =[
I am going to give mine a sick Paintjob some type of blue bass
I hate working with black, so hard to keep clean and in the long run scratches are such a bitch to work with.

The STI blue isn't so bad. How much would it cost to get the paint job done? I'm thinking of painting my HX the factory red and get some dents fixed on it in the next few years.

It's all good, Id go with the STI blue. The car was originally silver? Silver is the easiest color in the world. lol I had a Satin Silver TL. Car always looked great.

Doesn't red fade the fastest also? My clear coat is still intact. I might wax the car before winter comes because I'll probably only wash it once a month with all the snow and crap on the road.

Any paint can last depends on quality of paint job and how u take care of it.
