New to HT, just introduce myself and post my build thread to share with you guys.



the car as it came was a 92 vx shell with no suspension, but it came with a road race rollcage and freshly sandbalsted.

for now we are using a NA b18a with a b16 trans equipped with a quaiffe style LSD, ITR header, DC stock suspension with Suspension Techniques front/rear drop forks/lower adjustable control arms and Progress drop springs, Stainless brake lines.

the car is currently getting body and paint, consists of spoon replica mirrors, mugen replica side skirts, type r replica rear skirt, j's racing replica front lip. the wheels are repainted enkie's in 16's.

i don't know the color code but this will give you an idea, its a pastel-y blue/green reflex.

the wheels are enkie's painted at the same shop thats doing the body/paint, he believes they are RPO1's but isnt sure.

the shell (came in on dolly's LOL) was 800.00 with the cage, was previously used for road racing, he was later told the cage is not nhra drag strip legal. but the biggest selling point was that it was rust free, fresh from the sand blaster, and well had a cage that he thought was strip legal.

but his plans are only to break 12's so its not really needed anyway its just for looks now or should future goals change can be modified to be legal.

I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine if the cage isn't legal, they won't let it make a pass on the strip period. Even if he runs a 13 and in the unfortunate event he crashes, the cage could end up doing more harm than good if it's not up to spec.

i will look into the rules before i put the cage back in so that there won't be any problems passing tech... what's the point of having the roll cage if it will prevent me from achieving my goal of breaking into 12 seconds for the quarter mile... it will definitely save weight not putting it back in but it's unfortunate because the cage was definitely one of the reasons i picked it up in the first place
