My Dual projector HID project
So seeing as that I have an extra set of HID's for a flaker buyer, i decided ****, might as well use em.
I had HIDs in stock civic housing, and while still brigther than stock, the beam pattern wasn't the best.. and im sure I was blinding other drivers.
They sell really ricey angel eye projector headlights on ebay, i got this set new for 80 bucks, not bad...
its a little ricey w/ the angel eyes and the carbon fiber cover thing, but it'll do... still debating if im gonna paint the CF section black instead of CF but im too lazy..
here's some pics..
preheat the oven to 180-200 degrees, stick em in for 10-15 min, pull em out, separate them w/ a knife or some other type of object...
the halogen part for the high beam is going in the garbage, i have a set of mercedes projector housings i bought for some reason back in the day that i never used, so im sticking those in the high beam's place... so i can have HID low and high beams...
the bulbs are all different sizes as u can see, and the benz housing doesnt fit too well, i mgonna have to cut out all those studs and just either glue or somehow fab new bracket to hold the new housing..
also the back of the denji HID where the bulb fits is tiny compared to the hid bulb im planning to use, im going to have to dremel that out and cutom mount those too
ugh. but it should look hot when they're done...

Re: My Dual projector HID project (Short Round)
You may want to consider leaving the reflectors for the high beam, rather than replacing them with the projectors. You generally want a more concentrated pattern with some upper illumination for the high-beams, so OEM low-beam projectors probably won't be ideal. If you do decide to keep them, removing the cut-off shield might help a bit.

Re: My Dual projector HID project (Padawan)
if aimed right they wont be blinding...except when the highs are on...but there's so many damn deer round here i want to be able to see them
yeah i've thought about removing the shield..i'll have to see what works best and test some things out

Re: My Dual projector HID project (=GAMEOVER=)
hey there is nothing wrong with blinding people, think of all the raised pickups that have their lights nicely lined up with your eyes when you are in your lowered civic
