Default My civic won't move

Hi guys!

I have a Civic EXR. A couple of days ago I was shifting into the first gear and I heard a small pop sound.

Then the vehicle wouldn't move. All the gears engage but the vehicle wouldnt move back or forward.

Does anybody have an idea what might be the problem?

Is this a Transmission problem?
Transmision output shaft and Front wheels?

I recently did some work on control arms.

Thanks.

axles? Clutch, trans, I'd check in that order myself, but I hate trannies and clutches.

What sort of work were you doing? Did you remove the axles?

You may have had an axle pop out of place. Check your axles, particularly where they fit into the transmission.

If not, I'd say it is a clutch problem.

its got to be the axle just put it in drive and look if half of the axle moves becuase it could be broke in the bootand you won't even see it unless it is moving

Not too familiar with front wheel drives but I can bet my money that it is neither your tranny nor your clutch. What ever connects the tranny output shaft to the front wheels (axle ?) is out of place or broken.

If you recently did some work on the control arms and had to take out the axles, then I'd suspect your axles were not tightened to spec.

If your tranny was heading south, you'll get symptoms such as sticky shifting, grinding, slipping and others. If your clutch was heading south, you'll find it hard to engage gears, gears slip or grind etc, similar to the tranny heading south.

What ever connect your tranny output shaft tou your front wheels is the culprint. If it is the axles, check them. If this was a rear wheel drive, I'll tell you immediately that is is your driveshaft.

Good Luck.

I was driving and heard a pop (well my wife did.) When I got off the freeway I couldn't get it out of gear. If the car was off it'd go through the gears, but not when it was running. When I tore it down I found out that I'd blown my pilot bushing up. Cheap part, just a pain to replace.
