Default My car won't start with new battery.

So I've been driving my car around fine for the last 8 months. Then yesterday morning I went out to start my car. Nothing. It was reading 12 volts, power windows/locks/radio/fuel pump was working, but there was just that dead 'click' noise and nothing. No turning over or anything. I turned on the headlights and had my buddy crank it. The lights went out and nothing.

I got it push started and drove to autozone. On my way there my voltmeter was reading crazy voltages, from 15 volts down to 12, and everywhere in between. Most of the time it would sit at 14.2 while occasionally sitting at 12.6. I got there and did an alternator test. The dang thing was shot. He did a load test and the idle dropped like crazy and almost stalled out. So I was like "okay, I need a new alt." He tested the battery, and it was bad too, with 73 percent life on it. So I jump started my car, just fine, starter cranked right up, and I went to work. At work I bought a new battery, which was of course dead from sitting on a shelf for ages. I had my boy jump my car and I drove home, lights on, radio on, and windows down. When I got home I shut off the car and hooked up the battery to a 2 amp charger for the night. 12 hours later (now) I went out to check on it. There was 12.6 volts when I turned the key to accessory, and 12.0 when I turned it to ON. I turned it to start it. Nothing. Same click noise as before and everything shut off. I am stumped. I have called people. My grandpa thinks there may be a short, but I'm not sure of that because jumping the car seems to make it fire right up. Can somebody help me? I have to be at work in 2 hours.

Starter? Try having someone tap the starter with something while you hold the key in "start".

I figured it out. I removed the voltage stabilizer unit I had mounted to the battery. The thing was shorting that **** out.

Megaraizin. Bought it on eBay. It worked fine for the longest time, but it seems to be causing the issue here. It did it a couple times before, but not nearly as bad. Well, I'm removing it from my engine bay, but I am keeping the extra negative ground points.
