Default My car wont start...need help asap.

Ok, guys I really need your help. Here's what happened, I took my headers off to change the gasket. I never unplugged the O2 sensor from the headers. I just unclipped it from where it connects by the distributor. Well, after I put it all back together, I went for a drive. After about 3 minutes, I get a CEL. I stop the car and pop the hood to find my O2 sensor wasn't connected good and came unclipped. I assume that's why I got a CEL. I clipped it back together and try to start my car, it doesn't start. So I look under my hood again and see that the wires from my O2 sensor are showing and touching. I had to replace a blown ECU fuse, then I try to start my car again and it still doesn't start. I changed the spark plug's and distributor because it looks like there"s no spark. I also changed the fuel pump. I have no idea what it can be. The car try's to start but doesn't turn over. I'm sorry for the long *** story, but I just wanted to be as detailed as possible. The car was running fine before this happened. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

looks like you might have fried your ecu... when you turn the key to on (II) not acc(I) does the CEL stay on? fuel pump prime? check your main relay if it still good try swaping ecus and check the wiring to see if some wer overloaded could have melted down.

Yea, the CEL stays on when I turn the key to on. And is there a specific area I should check to see if i overloaded and melted down wires?

If you jump the service connector, what code(s) do you retrieve?

Does the fuel pump prime? Do you have spark?

Have you checked whether fuse 31, 24, or 18 is blown?

I dont know how to check for what codes its throwing but I dont have any spark and no other fuse was blown except for the ECU fuse. My fuel pump doesnt prime either.

Click here to learn how to pull CEL codes.

Is the important ground wire attached to the thermostat housing loose, disconnected, or corroded?

Why do i have to replace the sensor? Can I just tape it up with electrical tape?

A steady CEL (no blinking) suggests a problem with the ECU, power to the ECU (bad fuses I mentioned), or ECU ground wires that run to the thermostat housing.
